Learn the Quran Online from Anywhere in the UK
Tanzil offers live one-on-one online Quran classes for children and adults across the United Kingdom, booked in UK time. From London and Birmingham to Manchester, Bradford and Glasgow, students learn with a qualified, background-checked teacher from home.
Evening madrasah at the mosque is a big part of growing up for many British Muslim children, but in a group class each child only reads aloud for a few minutes. A short one-on-one lesson gives your child the teacher's full attention for the whole class, and fits around school, homework and clubs.
Class Times for UK Time Zones
All classes are booked in UK time (GMT in winter, BST in summer). Your exact slot is confirmed when you book the free trial.
| Time zone | Main cities | Suggested class times |
|---|---|---|
| GMT / BST | England: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Leicester | After school 4–8 pm; Saturday and Sunday mornings |
| GMT / BST | Scotland: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee | After school 4–8 pm; weekend mornings |
| GMT / BST | Wales and Northern Ireland: Cardiff, Newport, Belfast | Before school 7–8 am or after school; weekends |
Half-terms and the summer holidays, from late July to early September, are a good time to move up to 4 or 5 classes a week, and lessons at home make it easy to keep going during Ramadan.
Why Families in the UK Choose Online Quran Classes
- More reading time than a group class: in a one-on-one lesson your child reads aloud for the whole class, and every mistake is corrected straight away.
- Safeguarding: every teacher is background-checked, lessons are one-on-one by video call, and parents are welcome to sit in.
- Fits around school and exams: choose the days and times, with a lighter plan in busy exam years such as GCSEs.
- Female teachers for sisters and girls: choose a female Quran teacher if you prefer.
- Learn as a family: parents and children can each learn with their own teacher, at separate or shared times.
